While savvy audiences tend to be skeptical about any Big Company Announcements taking place on April 1st, there are always going to be a few suckers who fall for an April Fool’s Day prank. In this case, those suckers included members of TrueCar’s own product team. We took advantage of the newsworthiness of ChatGPT, et. al. to create a spoof video of a new AI-powered app, called “CarGPT.” Apparently, the product team was so convinced by the “announcement,” they immediately contacted the company’s COO.
